Life Remembered: Zealous learner became influential teacher
A woman who helped create and popularize the "new math" with University of Illinois colleagues has died, after a long life that included fleeing from the Nazis and taking part in the early civil rights movement.
Educator and social activist Lore Rasmussen, 88, died Jan. 23 in California.
