Champaign police seek help solving December shooting death
CHAMPAIGN – Champaign police and Champaign County Crimestoppers this week are seeking help from the community in the investigation of the slaying of 34-year-old James Ellis.
In the early morning hours of Dec. 19, Mr. Ellis was at home at 1909 Joanne Lane in Champaign when two men burst into the house with guns displayed. There was a physical struggle, and Mr. Ellis was shot and killed.
