Sprinklers extinguish small fire at Illini Tower
CHAMPAIGN – Sprinklers quickly extinguished a small fire in a 14th-floor apartment, but caused water damage Saturday at Illini Tower, 403 E. Chalmers St.
"The sprinklers did do their job, but there was water damage," Champaign fire spokeswoman Dena Schumacher said. "There was water all the way to the ground level."
