St. Matthew priest, Newman Center chief now monsignors
PEORIA – Monsignor is the new title for Mark Merdian, pastor of St. Matthew Catholic Church, and Gregory Ketcham, chaplain and director of St. John's Catholic Newman Center at the University of Illinois.
Bishop Daniel Jenky, head of the Catholic Diocese of Peoria, recommended the honors that were bestowed by Pope Benedict XVI.
