Police recover some bank robbery money
CHAMPAIGN – Some of the money taken from a Champaign bank during an armed robbery on Monday has been recovered, but the people who committed the crime remain at large.
Champaign police Chief R.T. Finney said the two gunmen who robbed the Centrue Bank at 1001 S. Neil St. on Monday dropped "a few hundred dollars" after they ran out of the bank at 2:36 p.m. Monday.
