Officials: Turbines could energize county's coffers
It isn't just landowners who could make money off that invisible and limitless force, the wind. Taxing districts are looking forward to wind farms coming to Champaign County.
An ordinance governing wind turbines is moving through the county zoning board of appeals. It next moves to the county board's land use committee, where its chair, Urbana Democrat Barbara Wysocki, predicts its passage.
