Fabri to quit as Champaign County Democratic chairman
CHAMPAIGN – The chairman of the Champaign County Democratic Party for five years told party officials Wednesday night he intends to step down and will turn in a letter of resignation later this week.
Hurt by recent criticism of his job performance as county auditor, Tony Fabri told the party's central committee that he wanted to focus all his energy and attention on his $83,245-a-year county job and would give up the party chairmanship.
