UI's I space gallery faces closure by end of summer
CHICAGO – I space, the Chicago gallery of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, will close at the end of the summer unless a benefactor steps forward to save it.
Keeping the gallery, in the River North district, open is no longer feasible in the current economy, and the College of Fine and Applied Arts is trying to re-imagine an I space in Chicago, according to Roger Laramee, assistant dean for advancement.
