26-year-old pulls off upset in Champaign District 1
CHAMPAIGN – One-third of the nine members of the Champaign City Council in May will be new, including an upset victory in District 1 in northern Champaign.
Incumbents Michael LaDue and Marci Dodds easily won re-election, with LaDue defeating Karen Rasmussen in District 2, 349 to 144, and Dodds overcoming Matthew Peek in District 4, 1,770 to 555.
