Prepare for Illinois Marathon to disrupt local traffic
Saturday will not be a good day to go sightseeing in the center of Champaign-Urbana.
You will encounter closed streets, volunteers at barricades, dozens of police, fire and public works personnel and more than 9,000 runners in the inaugural Illinois Marathon. (About 1,900 people will be running the full marathon, more than 4,000 in the half marathon, 2,200 running a 5K race, 200 teams of four-member marathon relays and about 300 participating in a youth run).
