Parents of man shot by police question son's death
URBANA – Abby Kaiyewu wants to know exactly why her son was shot and killed by police on Interstate 74 in Vermilion County earlier this month. She also wants everyone else to know.
"We just want to put a face to our son, let them see that he has a mother," she said in a telephone interview Tuesday.

Let me start by saying I'm so sorry for this family's loss. Let me conclude by saying, This is NOT racial profiling. Kaiyewu stopped his car illegally in the middle of 130. That officer was simply checking his welfare and doing his job. Kaiyewu took off from the scene and once again the officer did his job and pursued him. Kaiyewu then exits his vehicle weilding a machette and the officers use a taser to subdue him. It doesn't work so they use deadly force...I am sure that Kaiyewu's Mother would have a different opinion if this car chase had ended on her street with a stranger exiting the car and not following the officer's instructions...

In the course of approximately half an hour, law enforcement officials of Champaign, Villa Grove & Oakwood made a decision, (a justifiable one they say) to end a man's life. A man who had so much promise, and so much still to give. We are more than three weeks out and they are still investigating a 30 minute event. Why can't they release any new information, what is going on?
