Ex-trustee chosen for Defense post
WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama has chosen former University of Illinois trustee Thomas Lamont for a Defense Department position.
The White House announced Friday that Lamont, special counsel to the UI since 2005, has been nominated as Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs in Department of the Army, part of the Department of Defense.
