Electrical short causes Champaign fire call
CHAMPAIGN – Firefighters responding to an alarm on Wednesday afternoon found no fire, but did discover an electrical short.
Champaign Fire Department spokeswoman Dena Schumacher said firefighters were called to 401 N. Prairie St. at 3:24 p.m. They found an electrical short in an elevator, which caused some smoke, Schumacher said.
