Property owners hosting turbines would get annual payment
It might make some noise, but a wind farm turbine also will generate thousands of dollars in cash every year for the property owner who agrees to host it.
Invenergy LLC, a Chicago-based wind farm builder and developer, has been signing agreements with property owners in Champaign and Vermilion counties who are willing to host wind turbines. For agreeing to that, the property owners receive a flat annual payment (if the wind turbine is built), according to John Doster, business development manager for Invenergy.
