Champaign council hears flooding, tenant concerns
CHAMPAIGN – A nearly full house in council chambers led to an audience-dominated city council meeting Tuesday, with residents turning out to express concern about weekend flooding and others saying the city needs to do more to protect tenants like those who were forced out of Gateway Studios last week.
Susan Hart, 408 N. Edwin St., told council members that flooding was especially bad Friday night at Russell, Edwin, Washington and Church streets.
