Earliest sale of bonds in Homer is next month
HOMER – Mayor David Lucas said the Sierra Club's objection to the irrigation design in Homer's proposed sewer plans will temporarily hold up the village's application for federal stimulus funds, but the state Environmental Protection Agency has issued bonds to fund the already approved $5 million grant. He said the earliest possible sales of those bonds would be next month.
In other issues, the village will be seeking bids for the sale of the Homer Beach property, now an empty lot at 110 South Main St. Bids will open in September.
