One killed, five injured in head-on crash on Illinois 1

HOOPESTON – Vermilion County Sheriff's deputies were still on the scene this evening of a fatal head-on collision that happened late this afternoon south of Hoopeston, according to the sheriff's department.

Of the six people involved in the accident, four were airlifted to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, and one has died, according to Vermilion County Sheriff Pat Hartshorn.
