State's attorney announces run in Fifth Judicial Circuit
PARIS – Edgar County State's Attorney Matt Sullivan announced Friday that he will seek the Republican nomination for circuit court judge in the Fifth Judicial Circuit in the February 2010 primary election.
"I've worked very hard in my career to be able to take this step and pursue an opportunity to serve on the circuit bench," said Sullivan, of Paris. He made his announcement before supporters at a Paris restaurant. "Historically, we have been very fortunate in the Fifth Circuit to have a fine collection of smart, honest and effective jurists. It is my aspiration to join these ranks and continue my public service in this way."
