State Senate Republicans propose 'bridge budget'
Illinois Senate Republicans are proposing a month-to-month “bridge budget” that would spare human service agencies from drastic cuts but would fund all state operations at last year’s levels.
That probably would mean spending cuts for nearly every service and program supported by state government, since funding for fiscal year 2010 would be based on fiscal year 2008 appropriations.
