A state commission investigating University of Illinois admissions procedures, including claims that politically connected applicants received special treatment, will question key university staff associated with the "Category I" list on Monday.

Several people are scheduled to testify, including Abel Montoya, former associate director in the office of undergraduate admissions and a point person in that office regarding the "Category I" list; Rick Schoell, the executive director of the Office of Governmental Relations; and Terry McLennand, the assistant director in the university's state relations office. Schoell and McLennand were often approached by legislators with inquiries about the status of applicants to the school.
