Danville wants building owners to choose safe over save
DANVILLE – When money is tight, people cut costs. But city officials don't want property owners or contractors to save dollars by ignoring building codes or other necessary procedures that ensure safety.
"Because times are tight, people are using unlicensed contractors to do work," Danville Mayor Scott Eisenhauer said. "That's a big concern of ours, we want to look at making sure our procedures and process for receiving licensing in the city is appropriate."
