Mahomet man accused of carjacking in Champaign
CHAMPAIGN – Bond has been set at $25,000 for a Mahomet man accused of a carjacking in Champaign.
According to Champaign County Assistant State's Attorney Larry Solava, Jacob K. Morrissey, 20, who listed an address in the 0-100 block of Piatt Street in Mahomet, was at a gathering at a home in Champaign on July 2 when he got into a fight. A woman at the gathering offered to give Morrissey a ride home, and the two of them, along with a second woman, got into a 2000 Toyota Corolla. When Morrissey learned the two women intended to take him to his grandmother's home, he began to get violent and swung at one of the women.
