Illini Farm Toy Show to feature more than 40 exhibitors

The sixth annual Illini Farm Toy Show will be held in Urbana this weekend.

The toy show, sponsored annually by the Champaign, Douglas, and Vermilion County Young Farmers and Young Ag Leaders, will feature more than 40 exhibitors from Illinois and neighboring states.

This year's show will include a celebrity tractor pull at 11 a.m. Saturday, featuring local television personalities, state Rep. Chapin Rose, Champaign Mayor Jerry Schweighart and others. A pedal tractor pull for children will be at noon on Saturday.

The show will be at the Hanford Inn and Suites Friday through Sunday.

The inn, formerly the Park Inn Hotel and Conference Center, is at 2408 N. Cunningham Ave., U.

Other show features include a silent farm toy consignment auction.

The auction will be open for bidding from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9.

The toy show is open 5 to 9 p.m., Friday, Jan. 8; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9; and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10.

Admission is $3, $2 for youths ages 6 to 12 years old and free for children under 6.

It's a one-time admission charge for both Friday and Saturday; visitors can return to the show. Admission is free on Sunday. On that day donations will be accepted for Ag in the Classroom programs.
