Two weeks left for businesses to take part in entrepreneur opportunities
CHAMPAIGN – Local businesses have only about two more weeks to take advantage of two opportunities offered by the Illini Entrepreneurship Center Network.
– High-growth companies in East Central Illinois have until Aug. 15 to apply for challenge grant awards of up to $5,000 for professional services.
The services must help the company achieve a significant milestone and may relate to marketing and business strategies, funding, financial modeling and technology or product audits.
Recipients must provide a cash match equivalent to the award and must use the money by Dec. 31.
– The network is also offering discounts to start-up technology firms in East Central Illinois interested in being clients of Illini Business Consulting, a student consulting group at the University of Illinois, this fall.
If chosen, companies would pay only $1,000 to participate in the semester-long project, while the network would pay $4,000.
That's a deep discount from Illini Business Consulting's conventional rate of $10,000 per project.
As with the challenge grants, applications for the consulting grants are due Aug. 15.
Applications for the challenge grants are available at http://www.illiniecn.org. To apply for the business consulting grants, contact the network office at EnterpriseWorks directly at 333-8324.
