Glitch blamed for lack of updates on circuit clerk's website
URBANA – The Champaign County circuit clerk's office hopes to resume updating most of its website on Tuesday morning following a computer glitch.
Due to technical difficulties, court case information on the site hasn't been updated for court activity happening after Aug. 13.
Champaign County Chief Deputy Circuit Clerk Fred Wilkinson said the office has been upgrading the automation system that updates various court cases on the site.
Wilkinson said a glitch in the system listed some inaccurate fees in the criminal and traffic divisions for court activity after Aug. 13.
"Until the problem is resolved, I didn't want to post inaccurate information," Wilkinson said. "I've have been leaving the information on the website accurate as of Aug. 13."
Since the only issues are for fees in criminal and traffic cases, Wilkinson said he intends to release all the information on non-criminal and non-traffic cases on Tuesday morning.
Wilkinson said he also plans to release on Tuesday everything in criminal and traffic cases except for the fee information until he is confident the problem has been solved.
"It is possible that we've got the problem fixed already, but I haven't seen enough criminal cases disposed of to see that they have the proper fees for me to release that information to the public," Wilkinson said.
Wilkinson said all posted fee information remains accurate through Aug. 13.
