Child safety presentations set in Danville

In response to attempted child abductions in the Champaign-Urbana area, the Danville police department's school resource officers will be making presentations starting today (Tuesday) at Danville's elementary schools to teach the children how to stay safe in their communities. The Danville school district has arranged the programs at the following schools and times:

Liberty and Cannon elementary schools - Today 8:30 to 9 a.m. for kindergarten through second grade and 9 to 9:30 a.m. for grades 3-5.

Garfield and Meade Park elementary schools - Wednesday 8:30 to 9 a.m. for kindergarten through second grade and 9 to 9:30 a.m. for grades 3-5.

Southwest Elementary School - Thursday 8:30 to 9 a.m. for kindergarten through second grade and 9 to 9:30 a.m. for grades 3-5.

East Park Elementary School - Thursday 8:30 to 9 a.m. for kindergarten through second grade and 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. for grades 3-5.

Edison Elementary School - Thursday 1:05 to 1:30 p.m. for grades 3-5 and 1:35 to 2 p.m. for kindergarten through second grade.
