URBANA — An Urbana teenager was arrested after police found him with suspected marijuana and suspected drug equipment.
Shane R. Castelo, 17, who listed an address in the 1300 block of Brighton Drive, Urbana, pleaded innocent on Thursday to unlawful possession with the intent to deliver cannabis and unlawful possession of cannabis.
According to a Champaign police report, police responded to a report of a person matching Castelo's description trying to enter some vehicles in the 1000 block of West Daniel Street at 4:52 a.m. Sunday.
Police found Castelo driving a Toyota Camry in the 900 block of South Lynn Street and pulled over the vehicle.
When police searched the vehicle, they found 47 grams (about 1.6 ounces) of suspected marijuana packaged in three separate bags and a scale in the driver's side of the vehicle and arrested Castelo, according to the report.
Judge Richard Klaus set Castelo's next court appearance for Nov. 15.
