Tatums to be honored for service

URBANA — The Canaan Baptist Church family and community will honor the Rev. and Mrs. B. J. Tatum at 5 p.m. Sunday for 34 years of service to the Champaign-Urbana community as well as nationally and internationally.

The program will be in the sanctuary of the Canaan Baptist Church, 402 W. Main St., U. Special guests will be the Rev. Alvin Love and the choirs and congregation of Lilydale First Baptist Church of Chicago. Because Pastor Tatum delivers sermons that are telecast each Sunday evening on UPTV, Channel 6, viewers of those are invited to attend the celebration, with a theme of "Together We Can."

Alicia Lowery is the general chairperson of the event.
