PHILO — A autopsy indicates that an Urbana man died from injuries he received in a crash in rural Philo on Thursday, according to Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup.
Northrup said that an autopsy performed on Friday indicated that Robert Miller Jr., 61, of Urbana, died from multiple injuries he received when his vehicle crashed into a utility pole at County Road 1500 E and County Road 1200 N, northwest of Philo.
Northrup said toxicology results are pending.
Mr. Miller was pronounced dead at 11:15 a.m. Thursday at the scene of the crash.
The driver was headed east when he struck a large utility pole, breaking the pole and bringing wires down, according to a sheriff's report.
Mr. Miller was the only person in the truck.
Northrup said an inquest may be held at a later date.
The crash is being investigated by Northrup's office and the Champaign County sheriff's office.
