Champaign woman cleared in cyberstalking

Editor's note: The charges against Damsen were dropped in January 2013.

CHAMPAIGN — Charges have been dropped against a Champaign woman for "cyberstalking" after she sent repeated emails to a male staff member at the college.

Silver Damsen, 48, who listed an address in the 0-100 block of East Healey Street, Champaign, pleaded innocent on Wednesday to one count of felony cyberstalking.

According to a Parkland College police report, Damsen had been sending repeated emails to a 42-year-old college staff member, including more than 20 emails sent to the man since November.

But the charges were dropped on Jan. 15, 2013.
