Man arrested after two robbed at gunpoint

UPDATED Wednesday 6:25 p.m.

CHAMPAIGN — A Ford Heights man was arrested in Champaign on Tuesday shortly after he allegedly robbed two men at gunpoint.

Deputy Police Chief Troy Daniels said Printiss V. Turner, 28, was apprehended in the 400 block of South Lynn Street shortly after he allegedly robbed a father and son who were walking in the 500 block of West University Avenue around 10:05 p.m. The victims, ages 54 and 20, reported that personal electronic items, cash and credit cards were taken in the robbery.

Daniels said Turner was armed with a handgun and struck at least one of the men with the weapon. Neither man was seriously injured in the assault.

On Wednesday Turner pleaded innocent to two counts of armed robbery.

Judge Tom Difanis set Turner’s bond at $250,000 and scheduled his next court appearance for Feb. 14.

According to this updated article, Mr Turner wasn't charged for not having a FOID (Firearms Owner Identification) card.  This must of meant that Mr. Turner must have had in his possession a valid up-to-date FOID card to possess his hand gun while committing this Armed Robbery.
