ARTHUR — State police report three people were injured in a single-car crash Thursday morning in Moultrie County.
According to a state police report, Evelyn Beightel, 56, of Clinton was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo east on Illinois 133 on the west edge of Arthur at 10:03 a.m. Thursday when the vehicle swerved off the edge of the road and went into a ditch.
The vehicle then struck a driveway culvert, went airborne, flipped over two times and crashed upright into a ditch about 800 feet west of Columbia Drive in Arthur.
Beightel and two passengers, John D. Smith, 55, of Charleston and Ashleigh McConnell, 5, of Clinton, were taken to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
Beightel was listed in fair condition on Thursday evening. Smith and McConnell were both treated and released.
Police reported that no tickets were issued in connection with the crash.
State police were assisted at the scene by the Arthur Police Department and the Douglas and Moultrie county sheriff's offices.
