Group looking for new volunteers

DANVILLE — Faith in Action and Faith in Action South, which serves southern Vermilion County, are looking for new volunteers.

Faith in Action will hold orientation sessions for volunteers from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Thursday and Jan. 25 at the First Presbyterian Church, 100 N. Franklin St., Danville.

Faith in Action South will hold volunteer fairs from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Georgetown Senior Center and 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. at the Georgetown Public Library. Both the senior center and library are at 102 W. West St., Georgetown.

Other volunteer fairs will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Jan. 24 and 2 to 4 p.m. Jan. 25 at Faith in Action South, 302 N. State St., Westville.

Another fair will be held in Oakwood. The date and location has not been determined yet.

Faith in Action is an outreach program of the Provena United Samaritans Medical Center Foundation. Programs are geared towards helping seniors age 60 and over. The organization provides transportation to medical appointments, respite care, home repairs, yard work and help with chores. It also builds wheelchair ramps on homes and helps with emergency assistance.
