Champaign police investigate shooting at apartment complex

CHAMPAIGN — Two men have been shot at an apartment complex in Champaign.
Police were called to the University Village apartments, 2001 N. Moreland Blvd., at 5:22 p.m. Thursday, according to preliminary information from Champaign Police Department spokeswoman Rene Dunn.
Dunn said two 19-year-old men were leaving the main office of the apartment complex headed for an apartment when they heard multiple gunshots fired. When the two reached their apartment, Dunn said, the men realized that they were the ones who had been shot.
Police were not releasing where or how many times the men were shot.
The two wounded men, who have not been identified, were taken to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, where they were treated for what Dunn described as non-life threatening injuries.
Dunn said police searched the area but did not find any suspects or additional victims.
She said information was not yet available on the number of gunshot casings recovered at the scene.
Dunn said police were given no information about the shooter or shooters or a description of the vehicle used by the shooter or shooters.
