Pliura plans rallies for concealed carry

Republican state Senate candidate Tom Pliura of rural Ellsworth will hold two more rallies Saturday in support of concealed carry gun laws in Illinois.

Pliura, a lawyer and physician who is facing state Rep. Chapin Rose, R-Mahomet, in the 51st Senate District primary election next month, will hold rallies in Paris and Savoy.

The Paris rally will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the American Legion Post 211 home.

The Savoy rally will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Champaign Elks Lodge at 903 N. Dunlap Ave.

Last Saturday, Pliura hosted gun rights rallies in Decatur and Clinton.

The public is invited, Pliura said.

Interesting.  I've gotten some mailers from Pliura showing him with a bunch of hunters, and he's running on a pro-gun rights platform.  We see him at pro-gun rallies.  Funny though, how he gave money to the Dick Durbin election campaign.  Yes Dick Durbin, who consistently gets an "F" rating from the NRA.

Giving even a dime to Dick Durbin should disqualify any candidate from running as a republican.

bluegrass - before taking aim at anyone as you did in your post against Dr. Pliura, know the facts:

More than anything I believe the State of Illinois needs to move to a conceal and carry law.  Afterall Illinois remains the ONLY state which fails to comprehend the 2nd Amendment...  THEY ONLY STATE in which a law abiding citizen cannot acquire their Constitutional Right to carry a firearm.

With that being said, I avoided tonights rallies as I support Chapin Rose.  Chapin has supported 2nd Amendment Rights as well as Fiscal Responsibility.  Chapin Rose is the type of leader we need in Springfield.

My name is Brett Hersom, and I support this post.
