Pliura plans rallies for concealed carry
Republican state Senate candidate Tom Pliura of rural Ellsworth will hold two more rallies Saturday in support of concealed carry gun laws in Illinois.
Pliura, a lawyer and physician who is facing state Rep. Chapin Rose, R-Mahomet, in the 51st Senate District primary election next month, will hold rallies in Paris and Savoy.
The Paris rally will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the American Legion Post 211 home.
The Savoy rally will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Champaign Elks Lodge at 903 N. Dunlap Ave.
Last Saturday, Pliura hosted gun rights rallies in Decatur and Clinton.
The public is invited, Pliura said.
