MANSFIELD — Two men are in the Piatt County Jail after being identified by citizens as being responsible for a break-in last fall to a Mansfield gas station.
Richard W. Richardson, 40, of Monticello, and Donnie L. Clevenger, 31, of Seymour, were arrested Thursday in connection with a burglary that happened Nov. 20 at the Wink's Mart BP gas station, 502 N. McKinley St., Mansfield.
Piatt County sheriff's deputies responded to an alarm at the business about 12:40 a.m. that day and found the front door had been forced open. Liquor and several small items were stolen.
Sheriff's deputies obtained pictures from the gas station's surveillance camera, which they asked local media to disseminate. After the pictures were shown on WCIA-TV earlier this week, several people called the sheriff's office to identify Richardson and Clevenger.
They are in the county jail in Monticello pending a court appearance, which has not been scheduled.
