Group collecting supplies for tornado victims

CHAMPAIGN — The Champaign County 4-H Federation is collecting school supplies to send to aid the victims of the Illinois storms. All supplies will be sent to the United Way of Southern Illinois.

Supplies can be dropped off at the Champaign County Extension office at 801 N. Country Fair Drive, Suite D, C, by March 20. The office will have boxes for easy dropoff.

Jamie Kleiss, Extension educator for 4-H youth development, said the United Way of Southern Illinois is requesting general school supplies, but those who'd like to donate can bring things such as notebooks, pens, pencils, markers and crayons.

For more information about the school supply drive, contact Kleiss at 333-7672 or kleissjm@illinois.edu.

Recent tornado touchdowns have been so deadly and devastating!  My family and I will send what we can and also pray for families who have lost so much especially loved ones!  God bless those who need support during this difficult time.
