Champaign police investigate armed robbery

CHAMPAIGN — Police are investigating an armed robbery Thursday afternoon in Champaign.
According to a Champaign police spokeswoman Rene Dunn, two women were working at Title Cash, 2010 W. Springfield Ave., when a man displaying a gun entered the business at 2:51 p.m. and demanded cash.
The man took some cash and was last seen heading west away from the building.
Witnesses described the robber at a black man with a skinny build. He is 5 feet, 10 inches tall; is about 50 years old and was wearing a baseball cap, sunglasses, white T-shirt and possibly jeans.
Dunn said the Champaign Police Department crime scene unit and K-9 team remained at the scene, with detectives interviewing witnesses.
