Actor Offerman returning to UI for Thursday show

URBANA — Actor Nick Offerman, best known for playing Ron Swanson on the NBC sitcom “Parks and Recreation,” comes to the University of Illinois at 8 p.m. Thursday as part of his “American Ham” comedy tour. The show will be at the Illini Union, 1401 W. Green St., U, in Illini Rooms A, B and C.

Offerman is originally from Minooka and received a bachelor of fine arts degree from the UI.

In addition to “Parks and Recreation,” he has appeared in TV’s “24” and “The West Wing” and movies including “21 Jump Street.”

He also runs a wood shop, selling furniture and boats.

Tickets are free for students with an i-Card (limit one ticket per i-Card) and $10 for the public. Tickets will be distributed in the Quad Shop at the Illini Union, and at the door if available.

Doors open at 7 p.m.
