Fire destroys Danville house

DANVILLE — Fire destroyed a vacant house in Danville Friday night.

Fire Capt. Dave Milholland said firefighters were called to the home at 1106 N. Bowman Ave. at 9:49 p.m.

"Firefighters found a vacant house with heavy fire coming from several different places," he said.

Seventeen firefighters using five pieces of equipment were at the scene more than two hours, clearing just after midnight.

Milholland said no one was injured. The single-story home is considered a total loss.

The preliminary fire report did not have the owner's name, Milholland said.

He said investigators checked out the remains but the cause of the fire has not been determined.
