Police release photo of supposed robbery driver

CHAMPAIGN — Police have released a photo of a man they think took part in an armed robbery at a Champaign gas station Monday morning.

They are looking for a man believed to be the driver of a gold, four-door car that left the Mobil Super Pantry, 1511 N. Prospect Ave., C, after another man robbed a female employee just before 10 a.m.

The 26-year-old woman was about to leave the business in a car to make a bank deposit when she was approached by a man who pointed a gun at her and demanded money.

She handed over the money and he got in a car that was last seen heading west on Bloomington Road.

The robber was described as a black male, approximately 25 years-old, 6 feet 2 inches tall with a medium build.

He was wearing blue jeans and a gray jacket with a black hood.

Anyone with information is asked to call Champaign police at 217-351-4545 or Crimestoppers at 217-373-8477.

Interesting. He was wearing blue jeans and a gray jacket with a black hood. This photo shows a white sweatshirt with no black hood???

The picture is of the driver, not the robber with the gun.
