An art show put together by Leal School third-graders to raise money for the Champaign County Humane Society will open this weekend.
The show, called "Ninth Spring," will open with a reception from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Indi-Go Artist Co-Op, 9 E. University, C.
Their artwork, made by teacher Craig Huff's third-graders, will be sold in exchange for donations to the Humane Society. The show will feature acrylic paintings of meaningful places in and around Leal School, according to a news release from the school district.
The project is aimed at helping students participate and understand altruistic behavior. The show's name comes from the fact that students have been alive nine springs.
