Big Brothers Big Sisters launches tree campaign

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Champaign County is giving the public an extra incentive to donate to the group in the next two months.

The agency has partnered with Cedar Ridge Nursery in Toledo, Illinois, to launch the Mighty Futures Campaign.

Between now and the end of June, if you donate at least $500 to Big Brothers Big Sisters, you'll receive a tree from Cedar Ridge Nursery, free of charge.  Cedar Ridge will plant and take care of that tree for a year.
Eric Batsie, community partnership director for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Champaign County, said the group has already received some good feedback on the campaign, and he's hopeful that the public will contribute.

Batsie says the group hopes to raise $10,000 through the campaign.  He said that money will go toward finding mentors for kids in Champaign County.

If you want to donate to the campaign, you can go to the Big Brothers Big Sisters website.
