Mahomet man reported injured in rural crash

FARMER CITY — A Mahomet man was reported injured in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon east of Farmer City.

According to a state police report, Tyler R. Barger, 27, of Mahomet was driving a 2003 Chrysler Concorde east on U.S. 150 about a half-mile west of Piatt County Road 900 E at 11:17 a.m. Wednesday when the vehicle left the road to the south, swerved back across the road, struck a guardrail and landed in a ditch on the north side of the road.

Barger was taken to Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, which reported he had been released by Wednesday evening.

Police ticketed Barger for improper lane usage and failure to wear a seat belt.
