Police seek robber of adult book store

CHAMPAIGN — Champaign police want help catching a man who robbed an adult book store Sunday night.

A release from spokeswoman Rene Dunn said that about 8:50 p.m. on May 6, a man came in the Illini Arcade, 33 E. Springfield Ave., and while armed with a knife, demanded money from a female employee.

After getting an undisclosed amount of cash, the robber ordered the employee to follow him out of the store to a nearby parking lot. He then ran east on Springfield Avenue. There were two customers in the store at the time and no one was physically harmed or approached by the robber.

He is described as white, about 30 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing about 170 pounds, with brown, thinning hair and a beard. He wore glasses and a black hooded pullover sweatshirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call Champaign police at 351-4545 or Crimestoppers at 373-8477,

Tips can also be sent at http://www.373tips.com or by text by sending CCTIP plus the information to 274637 (CRIMES).

I think if they really want help solving these crimes and want to show us "evidence" of who did it - we should get not just a camera still, but also the video (some of it, not all) - because sometimes the voice (if heard), or the "way a person carries themself" or a "particular angle" will jump out at someone better than the video still will?

Just my 2 cents

Great idea, but honestly, most of these systems take multiple still shots every couple of seconds.

How come he's wearing a black sweatshirt in one photo and a gray one in the next?
