Four people injured in crash in rural Vermilion County

RURAL DANVILLE — Four people were reported injured in a three-vehicle crash in rural Vermilion County on Monday afternoon.

According to a state police report, Laura M. Aguirre, 36, of Danville, was driving a car north on Illinois 1 about a half mile north of Potters Woods Road at 1:07 p.m. Monday when she failed to see that two other vehicles ahead of her were stopped behind several other vehicles that were turning left onto a driveway.

The report said Aguirre was unable to stop before her car hit a car driven by Branden C. Fox, 17, of Alvin.

Fox's car then struck a car driven by Steven Tyler Harmeson, 29, of Danville.

Aguirre and two passengers; Isabella R. Aguirre, 12, of Danville, and Julian M. Aguirre, 14, of Danville; were taken by ambulance to Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville, where they were treated and released.

Harmeson took himself to Provena United Samaritans Medical Center, where he was also treated and released.

Fox and two passengers in Harmeson's car — Jarvis Brown, 34, of Danville, and Christopher W. Spencer, 34, of Georgetown — were not injured.

Police ticketed Laura Aguirre for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and not having insurance.
