Fundraiser scheduled to benefit homeless veterans
DANVILLE — Cellular One and Neuhoff Communications are teaming up to raise money for the Veterans Affairs Illiana Health Care System's homeless veterans program.
The businesses are sponsoring a "cornhole" tournament on June 16 at the Village Mall, 2917 N. Vermilion St., Danville.
The double elimination event will begin at 11 a.m. in the parking lot behind Buffalo Wild Wings. It will be moved inside the mall to the former Steve & Barry's location in case of rain.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three teams. The first team out will have its registration fee refunded.
Cellular One will cover the cost of prizes and expenses so that registration and other sponsorship proceeds will go to the VA program, which serves veterans in central Illinois and western Indiana.
Other sponsors include: Buffalo Wild Wings, gold sponsor; County Market, Bryant Industries, Lee's/Jocko's, NAPA Auto Parts and Carmack Car Capitol, silver sponsors; and McDonald's and Montana Mike's, friend sponsors.
The registration fee is $20 per team. Registration forms are available at Cellular One at the Village Mall or in Towne Centre, 2 W. Main St., Danville. They also are available online at http://www.cellular1.net.
