Piatt County teen located unharmed

MONTICELLO — A Piatt County teenager was found safe Saturday after having run away from home in Pierson in southern Piatt County more than 48 hours earlier.

A release from the Piatt County Sheriff’s Office said Jonas D. Revell, 14, was found on the Lake Fork River near Chesterville in Douglas County about 10:45 a.m. He was alone and in good health and reunited with his family, police said.

Members of the Piatt and Douglas County sheriff’s offices, and the Moultrie and Shelby County dive teams had been involved in the search.

Tuscola police also helped since police had information that his last cell phone call was made to a girl in Tuscola.

Police said he left home about 5:30 a.m. Thursday after an argument with his parents. They reported him missing about 6:40 p.m. that day.
