Danville truck driver crashes on I-57

TUSCOLA - A Danville truck driver was listed in good condition Friday morning after being ejected from his truck when he left the interstate Thursday evening.

Illinois State Police at Pesotum said about 5:40 p.m., Christopher Meinart, 31, was driving north on I-57 south of Tuscola when his FedEx semitrailer tractor truck left the road on the right and traveled through the ditch about 900 feet before crashing through a wire fence. The rig then went down a concrete  culvert, coming to rest at the bottom of a creek bed.

Meinart was thrown out of the truck through the windshield. He was taken to Carle Hospital, where he was listed in good condition.

He was issued tickets for driving under the influence of drugs, improper lane usage, failure to obtain a corrected commercial driver's license, and failure to wear a seat belt.

This guy needs to have his license revoked.  Also, if I were his boss, he'd be fired.  Immediately.  DUI is not a joke, nor a minor offense.  He could've easily killed someone else by his actions.
