Mahomet couple injured in ATV accident

MAHOMET — Two Mahomet residents were injured when the all-terrain vehicle they were on flipped over Friday morning.

Champaign County sheriff's Sgt. Keith Cunningham said the accident happened on private property in the 400 block of County Road 2600 N, just north of Mahomet, about 10:30 a.m.

Cunningham said Randall Isham, 63, was driving the ATV, which was pulling a water tank, and Darla Dees, 56, was behind him.

The water in the tank apparently shifted, causing the trailer to swerve and the ATV to overturn, Cunningham said.

Isham was pinned under the ATV but Dees was thrown clear.

Isham was taken by helicopter to Carle while Dees was taken by ambulance.

Cunningham said neither received life-threatening injuries but their conditions were not available.
